At our farm in Mid-Wales we decided to change
the way we farmed, which lead to the birth of the XtremeOrganiX
restaurant...... So
began the conversion from conventional farming to organic farming.
Certified by, ORGANIC FARMERS & GROWERS UK2 the farm finished
its conversion in 2003 and was registered.
It soon became apparent that we needed to create a market for the high quality
organic Lamb, Beef and Pork that we were producing.
We decided to open a ‘Take-Away’ restaurant in our local town Hay-On-Wye.
Hay had little to offer in this business line other than a Chinese take-away.
In November 2003 Xtreme Organix was born! We opened our take-away business In
Hay. We process and supply our own meat from our farm into organic burgers, steaks,
kebabs and ready meals. With the emphasis on high quality, organic and local
produce. Xtreme Organix was an instant hit!
We realised that there was an opening in the market to take our organic products
in front of the public. We purchased a catering wagon to deliver our ‘home
cooked organic produce on site’ at county shows and other events. Our first
main event being Hay Festival.
We now have 2 wagons and are servicing many events
including; Music festivals such as The Green Man and Hay Festival.
We also offer:
bed and breakfast
just outside Hay on Wye... Click here for more info.
The farm is a member of the Organic Farmers & Growers Association (UKF001674)
and the Farm Assured Welsh Livestock Scheme (FAWL) |
